Pulseaudio fail

23:18:02 % alsamixer
Assertion 'size < (1024*1024*96)' failed at pulse/xmalloc.c:63, function pa_xmalloc(). Aborting.
zsh: abort      alsamixer

No weird configuration, stock kernel, pulseaudio, alsa-utils, alsa-plugins, etc from the repos… I did some googling about that error message and apparently it's been fixed for over a year now. Hmm.

Re: Pulseaudio fail

alsamixer shouldn't be opening your pulse device anyhow. Set your default ctl to hw.

ctl.!default {
  type hw
  card 0
}

Re: Pulseaudio fail

Ok, so alsamixer now works; but everything else audio-related dies with that error message.

Re: Pulseaudio fail

Something is setup wrong. No idea what that could be, but it seems its between pulseaudio and alsa. Check back on the wiki for both of those.
