Re: Problem with fonts in terminal

Do you have all the these fonts installed?

pacman -S artwiz-fonts ttf-ms-fonts ttf-dejavu ttf-bitstream-vera

I was missing artwiz, but that didn't solve it thought.
Any more suggestions?

Re: Problem with fonts in terminal

Did you try setting a different font in the terminal?

Re: Problem with fonts in terminal

Yes, and that didn't help either. I tried different fonts and just changing stuff around, and nothing seems to work. It's a really weird thing.

Re: Problem with fonts in terminal

Hmm... can you try another terminal? I want to know if it is only a problem with this terminal you are using.

Re: Problem with fonts in terminal

I just got home from work and tried xterm, and it seems to work properly.
Any ideas as to what can be causing this problem?

Re: Problem with fonts in terminal

My guess would be a locale bug within the other terminal. I suggest installing another and using that for a while until the problem gets solved with a later update.

Thanks for all your help!
Since I'm at it, would you care to recommend one to me? xterm is just too simple.

Re: Problem with fonts in terminal

I use Terminator.  Try splitting windows vertically.  It has made me happier in my work.

Re: Problem with fonts in terminal

Well, from that tiny view of that screenshot, I think that may be gnome terminal?

If so, you can pretty much pick up any other VTE terminal and expect similar functionality (xfce's terminal, lxterminal¸ roxterm etc). Of course, I have a very good feeling that if you are getting a bug in one, you are going to get the same bug in the others. But it wouldn't hurt.

You could also try urxvt (what I use now), but it is a little different.

I recommend urxvt, especially with the 256color. Get the best out of the unicode support while being very lightweight.

Re: Problem with fonts in terminal

Thanks to everyone, I'm using urxvt now, and the problem seems to be solved.
If anyone knows exactly what may be causing this, please share!
