Stuttering Sound

Hiya chaps,

Having a problem with 'stuttering' sound. Some times when the system boots up I'll try and play a sound (this could be through Flash, xine or using aplay or anything) and all I'll get is the first second of the sound repeated again and again. Other times (after a reboot) the sound works perfectly. I've found no rhyme or reason to why sometimes the sound is fine when I boot and other times it is not.

I'm using ALSA, have tried changing to OSS but this made no difference at all.

Should probably also note that the system I had on this laptop before (Mint 7) never suffered from this problem.

Help!

I have been having the same problem you have for about 2 months now. The only thing I can figure is it may be the soundcard. What is your sound card?
