Bash completion semi broken after system upgrade ('*' not working)

Bash completion seems to work ok, except when I try to use an expression with an asterisk like 'ls * [TAB]' or 'ls *.avi [TAB]'.
Also i have noticed that it works when i use one of my aliases (defined in .bashrc). For example 'll * [TAB]' (which is an alias to 'ls -alF') works fine! This makes the behaviour even stranger IMHO.

I've just upgraded Arch after a longer pause (~300 upgraded packages) so i dont know where to start solving this issue.
Thanks in advance.

PS: I just found out that bash-completion in fact was one of the packages that got upgraded. But reverting to the previous version didn't help so it doesn't seem to be the culprit.
