Sudden Keyboard Weirdness

After installing kdemod3 a few days ago (and having since uninstalled it) I've noticed a very strange issue with my keyboard. Randomly it'll decide to switch the behavior of capslock: suddenly what i'll be typing is in caps while the capslock is off. When i turn the capslock 'on' everything switches back to lowercase. Throughout all this though my shift button does not work. I can't quite figure out why it's happening and what suddenly led to this weird behavior.

Any ideas on even where to begin?

Re: Sudden Keyboard Weirdness

Is it possible that your shift key (regular shift, not capslock) might be getting stuck?

Not physically no. The behavior definitely led me to think it was the shift key that was somehow (through X) getting 'stuck' but I didn't have the slightest clue how to go about it. Not to mention many other things become unresponsive shortly after the keyboard starts weirding out (recently found that out.

Re: Sudden Keyboard Weirdness

so... this problem has become infuriatingly annoying. There's nothing that triggers it and nothing that un-triggers it. It randomly dumps me into caps lock mode but also 'deactivates' the F## buttons, arrows don't work, ctrl+alt+delete doesn't work, etc. etc. This is thoroughly absurd. Any help would be a godsend.
