Xsession.pacnew

Yesterday's -Syu installed brought a new Xsession (Xsession.pacnew).  Can anybody tell me if this is simply a replacement for the existing Xsession, necessary because of the new xorg-server update which installed at the same time - or do I need to make any other changes to by setup before I reboot and use it?
