Thinkpad T41p Radeon 9000 problems

Hi,

I've got several problems with my T41p:

First one: I need to disable kms (by setting radeon.modeset=0 in the boot line)... If I dont KMS is switching into a black framebuffer on boot.

Second problem which i couldn't fix:
After updating to the current kernel (2.6.31.5-1) the radeon module cannot be loaded anymore... I get following errors in dmesg:

Nov  8 18:17:40 thinkpad kernel: [drm] radeon default to kernel modesetting.

Does anyone of you have similiar problems? I am currently using the lts-kernel to get around this problem. But it would be nice to have back a working graphics driver including DRI support big_smile
