setting up right keyboard layout (sv-latin1)

Hi, guys.

So i finally forced myself to test that Arch thing and i've got to tell you i'm amazed. I never thought my 701 eee could run a system soooo fast! Fantastic. Huge cred to the different Wiki authors, great job you guys.
However, there is one little but very annoying problem i have. I cant get the system load _se_ as default layout at boot. "setxkbmap se" solves the issue, however after the boot. Have already put that command into .xinitrc, but it didnt work. Tried changing 10-blabla.fdi policy, didnt work either. Deactivating hotplugging crashes the system. So, plz help. Dont want to reinstall it all just because of this small bump. Btw, after running the command "öäå" show as "???" in terminal. Is it normal? Thanks for your help.

Re: setting up right keyboard layout (sv-latin1)

Did you try to add "keymap" to your HOOKS in /etc/mkinitcpio.conf?

HOOKS="base udev autodetect pata scsi sata filesystems keymap usbinput"

You need to rebuild initramfs after that change:

mkinitcpio -p kernel26

Re: setting up right keyboard layout (sv-latin1)

Do you have KEYMAP="sv-latin1" in /etc/rc.conf?

Found this one googling: http://forum.archlinux.se/viewtopic.php … 5aeoe#p148
