One package - multi mirrors

pacman -Ss foo

extra/foo1.1
current/foo1
testint/foo1.2
unstable/foo1.3

if i execute

pacman -S foo

the foo1.3 package will be installed, correct ?

But i need foo1 then

pacman -S current/foo1

work ?

Another question:

if my pacman.conf have testing, current, extra, unstable, tur's mirrors, when i execute

 pacman -Syu

Pacman will search packages in order:

current, extra, testing, unstable, tur's

or only in current, extra ?

To do a -Syu only in current, extra i need configure alternative config file with --config ?

hello,
"pacman -S foo" installs the newest version of foo from the first repo it is in,
so if you want to use "testing" repo it must be put first in your mirror configuration,

"pacman -Syu" works the same way

this is also one of the reasons i hate to see many versions of one package. it is a horror to administer them at both ends.

Its very unlikely to see a package in both current and extra (they're supposed to be mutually exclusive, except extra can depend on current). It is likely to see a package in both testing and current or extra, or in both unstable and current or extra, but not likely in testing AND unstable AND current or extra. Generally the unstable ones have different package names (ie: foocvs), and people using unstable should theoretically know what they are doing.

I have a similar problem.
I have a ruby package built from abs in my personal repo (for custom built packages)
The arch devs just released a new ruby build for 1.8.2.
My repo is first on my list of repos, so pacman is not grabbing the newest version. This is fine normally, but I do want the newer version in this case....

is there a way to specify the repo to retrieve from, without having to reorder the repo list?
like..
pacman -S ruby --repo extra
