SOLVED
has been solved with latest radeonhd + patch for HDMI support
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hello,
I built myself a new computer with a radeonhd 4650 but I cannot get the audio out through the HDMI plug to my TV.
The normal green jack works without issue.
I tried ussing radeonhd from the repo, the git version in aur, the hdmi all and audio on in xorg.conf, deactivating the standard sound card in the bios etc.. but nothing works.
aplay -l does list the hdmi sound device, aplay on that device with a wave does not produce any sound at all.
KDE can see the hdmi device but also says there is an issue with it.
I've been searching the web for hours and cannot find any solution to this... but I would like to get some sound...
Any idea guys?
Oh also the 3d perf seems really bad, when I start XMBC it is amazing slow on a i750 system with 4gb...
The 3d rasterization is done in software from what glxinfo is telling me.
(on x86_64, all updated using the test repo)
Thanks

if anyone is interested, radeonhd does not give audi through hdmi for 4650/4670 yet, so I had to go to catalyst instead
