Is there a music auto-sorter?

I just started using mpd. I like it. I'm looking for something that will read the tags and sort the music in to artist/album/song.mp3

Re: Is there a music auto-sorter?

your gonna want to look at easytag for that.  it's not very intuitive but i'm 90% sure it can rearrange files based on tags.

i thought about writing something in bash for this to 'cleanse' recently dow- ... er, purchased and ripped music to my collection.  maybe i'll start that back up again...

You can also use the goggles music manager to accomplish this (musicmanager in community). The import function has a filename template you can use to move your files around by tag.

Good luck!

I use picard to sort all my music - it treats your music as albums rather than lots of tracks which I find much quicker and easier.
