lm_sensors new package release 3.1.1-4 and rrdtool dependency

Hi to all,
as specified by the ChangeLog since this release the rrdtool has moved from optdepends to depends; this change requires to install various packages that usually aren't required by an headless (X11 free) server as specified below:

pacman -S lm_sensors

Targets (16): libart-lgpl-2.3.20-1  libpng-1.2.40-1  freetype2-2.3.11-1  libxml2-2.7.6-1  renderproto-0.11-1  libxrender-0.9.5-1  fontconfig-2.6.0-2  pixman-0.16.2-1
              xcb-util-0.3.6-1  cairo-1.8.8-1  libxft-2.1.14-1  libdatrie-0.2.2-1  libthai-0.1.12-1  pango-1.26.1-1  rrdtool-1.4.1-1  lm_sensors-3.1.1-4

Total Installed Size:   28.22 MB (lm_sensors only package 0.52 MB installed)

I'm asking if there is any particular reason of the maintainer or community request at the base of this change?

Thanks

It was changed because if was required for a daemon while optdepends are more intended for plugins as such. If you don't want rrdtool:
# pacman -Rd rrdtool

Thanks for the answer Snowman.

Since I do regulary a dependencies sanity check via crond I prefer to not forcibly remove rrdtool so I built a personal package with rrdtool as optdepends (like the previous release of the package).

If / when I will use sensord (that require librdd) I will install the optdep rrdtool.

Thanks, bye.
