did
mkfs.ext4dev on /dev/sdb7
did not changed partition table with cfdisk or fdisk
At this moment trying testdisk-wip-6.12-1 with no luck. Is it possible restore files with they're names?
Should i delete partition table to help testdisk?

As long as you didn't write to it (as in data), you should be able to recover stuff.
I'm not sure that Testdisk utility is really the best thing for NTFS recovery? Why not try this on Windows, and with native tools?
Edit: Not much GNU/Linux discussion here, I assume your needs are practical rather than philosophical . Moving this to where it belongs.

i have external 640 GB western hard formated in 3 partition
box1: 195 GB
box2: 195 GB
box3: 205 GB
i was playing with box2 (deleted it, and was creating partition for new fs testing)
box3 was ntfs, but i formated it with mkfs.ext4dev
when i run testdisk, it finds
box1 ntfs
box2 ntfs
box3 ext4
box3 ntfs
but it says, that cannot recover box3 ntfs, cos sizes dont mach (box3 is 205 GB, but if finds 210 GB) (actualy it finds that all external hard is not 640 GB but 860 GB )
question, if i make backup of box3, then whipe all my external hard, and then put back my box3 205 GB to 640 GB, will testdisk try to recover my partition, or it still will say, that partition is too big?

Hirens boot CD is your best friend in these situations, I've solved many problems using it before.
The site is VERY slow so just be patient or find an alternative download location, 10.1 is the latest revision I believe.
