double suspend (suspend after wakeup)

Hello there!

I have the following problem on my eeepc 701 running arch: it sometimes happens (about once in 5 times or so), that after suspending, then waking up, after about 5 seconds where I can move the mouse and see the desktop, it immediately suspends again.

Then, I can wake it up again, and after the second time everything works as expected.

Do you have any idea what could cause this? Or what logs or something could be examined to find the problem?

I'm using the normal pm-suspend from the gnome gui...

Re: double suspend (suspend after wakeup)

disable the "suspend key" on gnome-power-manager. The problem is, when you press the suspend key (or whatever you have associated to that action) pm-utils and gnome-power-manager try to suspend your machine. One of them will suspend it first but, when you wake up your machine again, the another one will perform the "missing" one.

Sooo... disable gnome-power-manager suspend feature and let pm-utils do all the dirty job.

They say that if you play a Win cd backward you hear satanic messages. That's nothing! 'cause if you play it forwards, it installs windows.
