running, you can remove /var/lib/pacman/db.lck
and want to remove the block does anyone know where to find what i need? also is there an easier way than just scanning 1000s of pages like maybe a search engine of sorts? thanks guys i know its a little to a lot nub to ask but i do what i can lol thanks again!

you can remove /var/lib/pacman/db.lck
What's the difficulty in that, provided you don't have any other pacman operations going on when you get that message?

As the message says, you can remove that file safely as long as it wasn't created by another running program, e.g. pacman. Check the output of "ps -e" for anything which might be using the database first.
The wiki has a (pathetic) search function. You can also use the forum search function and just about any online search engine worth more than a handful of baked beans.

You can use Google to search the wiki. Just add site:wiki.archlinux.org to your query. For example, site:wiki.archlinux.org pacman db.lck will search the wiki for pacman and db.lck. Other engines have a similar feature.

Really? I'm usually able to find what I need, though the wiki search isn't made for searches like that.

Open your file manager as root then navigate to var then lib then pacman right click on db.lck and delete then Pacman should work again.
