ettercap-gtk problems - freezing GDM

Hi,

I have been trying for days to get ettercap-gtk to work on both my workstation and my laptop. I do the following:

1. I start gnome-terminal and perform "su -"
2. As root i start "ettercap-gtk --gkt" - no errors or warnings occur.
3. Each time ettercap tries to create a new GTK dialog (e.g by pressing help->contents), GDM freezes and i have to switch to tty1 and restart GDM.
4. It is regardless of what new dialog ettercap creates, that GDM freezes / crashes. When i scan for hosts, and the progress bar should pop up, nothing happens visually. However the scan is properly finished in the background, then GDM goes pop.

What i have tried in order to resolve this issue:

1. Downgraded my GDM according to the GDM 2.28 wiki page. I'm still running with the old version.
2. Added my normal user to sudo and launched ettercap that way.
3. Recompiled ettercap-gtk with "--enable-debug".

The Curses version seem to work just fine. I would, however, prefer to use the GTK interface.

I hope some of you Arch'ers have a solution smile
