Whenever I try to run Urban Terror a huge box is covering all but the top and left few pixels of the game. I tried switching between tiling, floating, and whatever that [M] mode is(sorry for being ignorant, I just started using dwm you see and loving it so far, and yes, I do know C ) but it just won't work. I'm sure it's something stupid I'm overlooking. Any help?
EDIT: Solved by creating another x server instance and running urt in that.

I can't visualize that: is sth obscuring UT? A screenshot would be nice.
How do you start UT?

Well I have the game itself resize down to 800x600 then go into fullscreen, so ignore the entire bottom left part. But that little black part that cuts off the top bar(where the dwm bar would be if the game wasn't fullscreen) is the only piece of the game I can actually see running. The rest of it is that black box with the blue borders.
Also, I'm running Urban Terror from dmenu, but it does the same thing when running it from a terminal like term.

Maybe you should check http://twilightlair.net:3000/projects/show/gaming-repo
That "box" is your dwm window w/ the default blue border. Maybe sth is wrong w/ you video setup? What happens if you try to run a web browser?

Everything works great except Urban Terror, even other OpenGL games in fullscreen with the same resolution AND gamma correction work. I'm not exactly sure why Urt is deciding to crap out. I did get it from the AUR, so I dunno that the gaming repos reports would do anything for me.

Which UT package did you use, I see a couple of them in AUR. http://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=10284 needs some patches applied.

That is the package I used

Did you apply the patches? Everything worked fine, no errors?
I neither play games nor am I a video-wise knowledgeable guy but ... did you click on that "box"? Is the sound working (maybe there's a menu / intro playing, but you can't see it).

I did, they worked fine. Yeah I clicked the box, the intro movie is playing and the game responds to keyboard input.
EDIT : Wow thanks! Running it in another X server works fine!

i think the box is the status bar. anyways i think its better to start a new server instance too. Although let me know what happens when you do hide status bar (whatever keystroke you set it to) and then start the game..

Ahh, interesting. Seems turning off the bar at the top fixes everything too! Well, two solutions for anyone then
Now if only I could get fullscreen flash video to work... (wanders off)

Why? F.e. you can download videos from YT and play them w/ mplayer etc. What do you need fullscreen Flash for? I'm not saying it wouldn't be nice but it's not really possible on GNU / Linux atm.

It seems to work fine with Awesome or any other window manager o.O
MPlayer does indeed work fine.

Oh, I thought you were having some problems. I wanted to know if it's reeeeally *that* important.

Nah it's not. It's just an irk that makes me switch to awesome or something else for a short time, but so far I really like dwm. I have to think a little differently, even from other tiling window managers. But it's a good kind of different.
