I have an old slot 1 P3 I'd like to use for mythtv, but it doesn't seem to have any type of support for wakeup at a specified time, so nvram/wakealarm are both out of the picture. Does anyone have an idea what else I could use for the same functionality?

not sure there's anything you can do if your mobo doesn't support it. There are a few other methods like wake-on-lan which signals from ethernet but that requires another computer that is on I think. Also, I think there's a way to get an external switch that turns the physical power on/off at the right time, but both of those only work with mobo support. Basically the only way to do it without support would be to wire up some type of device to push the power button at the right time, but its probably easier just to buy a motherboard with acpi wakealarm.

Yeah, that's what I was figuring. I don't think it would be too hard to wake and send the wake-up time to another computer that will then wake the backend whenever a show is on, it's just kinda cludgy.
