[Solved] No new packages for x86_64???

My system is perhaps a bit lean, but I have not been offered any new upgrade packages since 18 November. I find this to be unusual - I am used to only 1-2 days between new upgrades. Pacman seems to be alright, and keeps quitting by saying my local database has been updated.

Am I paranoid? Has there really been so little new the last few weeks?

You might be using a mirror that's out-of-date - check https://users.archlinux.de/~gerbra/mirrorcheck.html against the first uncommented mirror in /etc/pacman.d/mirrorlist to see.  Pacman doesn't use the others on the list if it can access this one, so comment it out and do pacman -Syyu to use the next one down.

Re: [Solved] No new packages for x86_64???

Thanks guys!

After posting I remembered I had substituted my default (then, and now, dysfunctional) Norwegian mirror with a UK mirror. I switched them "around" again and found the Norwegian mirror to be still dysfunctional (timing out) and the UK mirror to be missing all the newer upgrades... Despite this, now I was offered a (huge) list of upgrades and all is well.

Lesson learned: run 'rankmirrors' ever so often...
