x86_64 Version of Wine

From Archwiki:

There's as of writing no x86_64 version of wine available, but that should be the case soon because the devs already have a hello world running.

So what exactly is the status of the development of this version? Is there any other way I could get Starcraft or Diablo running on an x86_64 version of Arch?

Re: x86_64 Version of Wine

There are a few methods, you could either install the lib32 stuff from AUR, or setup a 32bit chroot and install WINE in there. For the latter, the wiki will help you a lot: http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Ins … _in_Arch64 It's really easy, actually.

You can only run 64 bits windows software with native wine64.

You should check its status with the Wine devs, not on the Arch forum. We don't write the code; they do.

But he wants to run Diablo and Starcraft. Both of them work fine with the bin32-wine package.

Re: x86_64 Version of Wine

OP does not understand his own question. To be fair the arch wiki on this point is a bit vague. To clarify:-

1. 32-bit wine runs 32-bit apps. 64-bit wine runs 64-bit apps.
2. Almost all the programs you want currently are 32-bit apps.
3. 32-bit wine only runs in i686 (not x86_64) Arch.

From 1 + 2 you get that 64-bit wine is useless for most of us, and will be for a couple of years to come.
From 2 + 3 you get that to run windows (32-bit) programs in 64-bit Arch you either want a chroot or lib32. More information in the wiki.
