Acer laptop screen brightness hotkey not working with kernel 2.6.32

Hi all.

I have an Acer Extensa 5630EZ laptop with Intel 4500MHD integrated graphics running 64bit Arch. The Fn+Left/Right hotkey is not working with the new 2.6.32 kernel. It works fine in the 2.6.31 kernel in the core repo. I have not upgraded the xf86-video-intel and the intel-dri packages as those are the latest available in the repos. Is there something I am missing? Is there another way I can reduce the screen brightness (via CLI)?

The ath9k driver in .32 is much better than the one in .31... which is why I kind of need .32... but the max brightness of the screen makes it almost impossible for me to use it for any extended period of time. Any help is much appreciated.

Thanks.

[edit]Finally I found where the brightness settings are in KDE roll System Settings > Power Management > Edit Profiles > Select profile in use > Screen tab > Brightess slider! It is convoluted how this is hidden deep in the settings.

I will leave this open as the hotkeys still do not work.
