xorg

Hello everyone I am an Arch newbie and was trying  to install th OS for the second time; and I could not get "X" to work. When I typed X -config /etc/X11/xorg.conf I get a fatal error "No monitor detected". I installed first the xf86-intel video driver, removed it and installd the xf86 -vesa driver; same result;  I'm stuck. I have a Toshiba Satellite A205 with an Intel GS950 video board. Any help will be greatly appreciated, thank you for taking the time and making the effort to help.

Re: xorg

Try with no xorg.conf; it's not needed in most cases now.

Re: xorg

Did you read the Intel wiki? It suggests to configure kernel mode setting:
