Hello there.
I'm thinking about buying a DWL-2100AP mainly because I can install open source firmware in it, but I notice that there are a lot of them. So far a found DD-WRT and OpenWRT. I'm afraid of messing it up during the installation... So what I wanna ask is which one of these open source firmware are better, have a installation less error-prone?
Thanks in advance!

I've flashed an AP with DD-WRT before with no problems.

Did you install it in the same AP model, the DWL-2100 ?

No it was some Buffalo AP, but it was easy and DD-WRT seems to be the most supported of the open firmwares for AP's. A quick check on both the sites should throw up if there is going to be a problem installing it. So, if no problems just pick your favourite, I picked DD-WRT and its a cracking piece of software. I think there is also one called Tomato as well which you should take a look at.

According to Tomato's home site, DWL-2100 is not supported, but thanks anyway.
I bought DWL-2100. It should arrive my place in this friday. I'll install DD-WRT and then update this topic with my experience.
Thanks a lot.

Hi joseph
were you able to load DD-WRT into the 2100AP ?

I think these kinds of questions are better asked on dedicated router forums, like https://forum.openwrt.org or http://www.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/
Also, this is an old thread:
