[solved] Dell Inspiron 6000:Problem reading/controlling fan

I installed the i8kutils and runing the i8kmon daemon at boot up.

But i8kctl command doesn't recodnize my bios, moreover it displays only one fan (the right one) but I can control both the fans wiht i8kfan I can hear them running when I issue the command.

I tried to install i8krellm from AUR but the repository where the package lives is unreacheable.

I am also very new to Arch the yaourt command says I have to be unprevilaged user to install with it ? How can I install something being a normal user ?

regards,
Hardik

Re: [solved] Dell Inspiron 6000:Problem reading/controlling fan

Now I have successfully installed i8krellm from AUR.

gkrellm can control the fans automatically using i8krellm, but the i8kmon and i8kutils are not working on their own.

The issue is fixed now.
