I've just installed Arch for the first time, having been with ubuntu for the past year, and MS before that. Everything is working great except I can't seem to mount my external hard drive. When I try to mount it in gnome I get a window pop up that says:
"Unable to mount
Not Authorized"
I can mount it if I'm in root using the "mount" command, but once mounted I can only browse it as root, as when I try to access the folder its mounted to, I get the same Not Authorized message. Any suggestions are welcome
Also, here are my groups:

I'd suggest it might have something to do with Hal. See http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/HAL

bgc1954, you are awsome. that link you gave me was spot on. It turns out it wasn't mounting because I didn't have "ck-launch-session" in my .xinitrc. Works perfectly now, and I'm loving my new arch install:)
edit: how do I mark this thread as solved?
edit2: nvm, i got it
