Digital Camera would not connect (by USB to transfer photos)

I am trying to connect my Digital Camera by USA to transfer photos. However nothing comes up in my arch. How can I make it work?

I am using KDEmod.

Re: Digital Camera would not connect (by USB to transfer photos)

Cameras typically use either Picture Transfer Protocol (PTP) or USB Mass Storage (UMS) to transfer images to other devices. Some cameras (my HP, for example) even allow the user to choose which protocol to use, so you should check that first, and choose UMS if it's available.

If it's not, and you're stuck with PTP, you need to find an application that can handle it. gphoto2 is one, but there are probably others that would suit a kde setup better - I wouldn't know about that.

if you have a card reader, you can use the memory card directly, that should work too.
