How to speed up compiz

Hi,

I reinstalled arch on my computer after being disappointed by Ubuntu (too many programs in my opinion)

Everything is running smoothly with a small issue with compiz. When I start compiz my computer gets too slow.
I already tried all the configurations suggested on the wiki and no luck at all.

Is there something else that I could do to improve the performance?
I really want to keep the magnifying glass on my computer.

Unfortunately, you did not give us much to go on.

For starters, run glxinfo from a console and ensure that direct rendering is enabled.

Beyond that, we need to know things like your video chip, what is/are your processor(s), how much RAM have you, etc...
