Some questions about ssh

I am a newer with poor expression...forgive me ...
questions come here~
I installed the openssh,and iptables (because in centos i can easily find the '.conf' and edit it)..but i really do not kown where to start iptablesd..it don't like centos
i can type :

#service iptables start

besides i don't kown where to check how many service my arch opened and what are they..

/etc/rc.d/ is where daemons reside.  Read the entire beginner's guide, then read it again smile
