Can not find /dev/initctl? Help me.

When I "init 1", it says: "Can not find /dev/initctl. No process left to run".
What can I do?

Re: Can not find /dev/initctl? Help me.

You could create one with

mknod -m 600 /dev/initctl p

But that does not explain why it is not there in the first place.
Maybe this has something to do with devfs or udev.

Re: Can not find /dev/initctl? Help me.

Is it /etc/udev/permissions.d/udev.permissions ?

I can't find initctl in it.

How can I setup it?

Re: Can not find /dev/initctl? Help me.

Here is the current solution (but still lacking)
http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?t=8362

There still is a problem with returning back to what I am only going to assume is either runlevel 3 or 5.
