I tried to upgrade but I'm getting an Openbox conflicting file, it's not the openlabel /usr/bin/obprop since I don't have it installed.

I'm somewhat confused on how to use the PKGBUILD file provided as a fix in the bugs archive. In particular openbox downloads into /var/cache/pacman/pkg as a tar.gz archive so there is no obvious openbox.install file.
I'm just not up on the arcana of the package build process and a quick read of the documentation didn't quite help me.

As stated in the bug report, that PKGBUILD fixes the obprop conflict, so it's completely irrelevant here - majiq didn't read your post properly.
Use pacman (and common sense) to determine the cause of the conflict, and then decide how to resolve it.

Touche. I shall read more carefully in the future.
