xscreensaver uses up a lot of cpu

Hi,

I am using openbox.

When I leave the computer and come back, I see a peak in cpu usage and my fans are running like washing machine.

I have installed the normal xscreensaver package.

Is there any lighter alternative ? I can also live without any fancy display.

regards,
Hardik

Re: xscreensaver uses up a lot of cpu

What about setting xscreensaver to just give you a blank screen and set the screen power saving features as well?

Re: xscreensaver uses up a lot of cpu

If you set any 3D screensavers they will eat CPU. I like the bump 3D thingy (or whatever it's called) but it always eats CPU smile.
