shutdown/reboot to command line??

Hi guys,

Running KDEMOD.

Whenever I reboot or shutdown, it detours to command line, (login prompt) hangs there about 30 secs and then proceeds with my request. Not a big problem, just gets aggrivating to have to wait any longer than I have to.

Is this normal? I am guessing it is going to runlevel 3 for a moment.

Is there a time delay of sorts I can reconfigure?

Yeah I have the same problem...
But I don't get it if I reboot/shutdown with a command...
So try that.

No it's not.
If you use sudo halt or sudo shutdown -h -now does it still show the tty?

As mentioned in kazuo's link: more details increase the chance  to get useful answers. Like:

- since when did it happen? after some specific upgrade/config/hardware change?
- any special configurations?
- any errors in the logs?
- what have you tried already?
...
