Lenovo ThinkPad R400 Brightness

I know many of you have posted few threads concerning this topic, but I experience quite different behaviour. My Fn+[Home OR End] work only in Win7 (default OS, will keep it, probably) ang in bios/grub. When booting linux, there's no way I can use those. I have found that these keys are not shown in acpi_listen, I can change the brightness setting like this:

#echo 4 > /proc/acpi/ibm/cmos
#echo 5 > /proc/acpi/ibm/cmos

as root. can anyone please help me? Yes, I am using tpb and it does not help

Re: Lenovo ThinkPad R400 Brightness

I have temporairly solved this issue by mapping a shortcut to flux. It is not Fn+ Home or End but Left Alt + those keys... I would like to make this setting system-wide, I would like to use it even when in framebuffer.
