Cannot connect to internet,

hi
im dual booting arch and windows 7 i just installed arch yesterday and tried to run pacman -Syu but it didnt work and i read somewhere that i was supposed to be connected to the internet first

im a pretty big noob so i dont know much, how do i connect to my wirelless WEP internet

btw im using a lenovo T61p

please tell, im starting to really be discouraged by arch, i really really wanna try this distro

Did you follow the guide when you installed?  It doesn't sound like it... "I read somewhere...".

Expanding on the above - if you don't read the docs, and you're "a pretty big noob",then it's not surprising that you're discouraged by your lack of progress. If you want to stay with Arch, make use of the wiki, and particularly the Beginners Guide, as suggested. If you still find it discouraging, there is nothing wrong with picking another distro - Arch is not, after all, designed for inexperienced users.
