Autofs, permissions?

Hello,

as a lot I had problems with mounting usb-disks after the last gnome update.
I wanted to try autofs, but I didn't seem to work. I think gnome-volume-manager was in its way and I didn't know how to disable it.

What's more important is that I discovered that I could use autofs to automount my ftp-server.  I followed the tutorial in the wiki to the point and now autofs automount my ftp-server.  The only problem I have is that it is read only.  I can't write on it, only root can do that.  Does somebody know wich options I have to add in /etc/autofs/auto.ftp?

The option I have now is:

xbox    -fstype=curl,allow_other    :ftp\://server\:passwrd\@ip

Thanks in advance.

Re: Autofs, permissions?

i wrote that wiki section, but just had the same problem trying to setup autofs on a new system. tongue

try adding "rw" to the mount line, something like this should work:

-fstype=curl,rw,allow_other,nodev,nonempty,noatime

if that doesn't work, trying creating a "fuse" group and add your username to it.
