Installation on Eee pc 1005ha

I've tried installing with the .img core file, the .img ftp file, FaunOS, and the .iso ftp file with unetbootin. The .img files gave me "GRUB GRUB GRUB Hard Disk Error" so I updated my BIOS and it gave me "GRUB_" where I couldn't do anything. FaunOS simply gave me "No bootable partition in table", and I'm not finding a fix for that probably because its discontinued. The .iso worked until it got to some "Boot device not found after 30 seconds" message which threw me into a ramfs$ prompt. I found that the command "ln -sf /dev/sda /dev/archiso" moved it to the next stage but that sent it into kernel panic. I've tried the irc channel but no luck. Does somebody over here have any idea how to get this working?

To me it sounds like the img/iso files are written wrongly to the media. How do you do it, and on what media? The iso files are for cdrom, and the img are for external disks, like a sd-card or pendrive.

I wrote the .img files to my 2gb sandisk usb drive using flashnul and the .iso to the same drive using unetbootin.

Yeah, i scoured that link several times, but either way, i got it to work.

I booted from a live ubuntu cd and formatted the drive in ext3 and then used the dd command to mount the .img file. Worked perfectly big_smile
