Unauthorized to mount

Normal user is unauthorized to mount external storage drives, although added to optical,storage groups.
I'm using Gnome.

I applied what's said in HAL wiki page, however still the same problem.
Not authorized to mount.

Any other suggestions?

i don't know how your setup is but in my .xinitrc i added

exec ck-launch-session dbus-launch --exit-with-session openbox-session

In bold is what I added to the file. Maybe that will help you?  i don't know just a suggestion.
