Trouble replacing nautilus with pcmanfm

I've just done a clean install and I'm trying to configure gnome to use pcmanfm instead of nautilus. The last time I did this I just edited this string in gconf-editor:
/desktop/gnome/session/required_components/filemanager:pcmanfm (from nautilus)

At startup it seems to work as nautilus does not start and a pcmanfm window opens. However, unlike in my previous install, when I try to open folders via the places menu or gnome-do they startup nautlius instead of pcmanfm.

Anyone have any ideas?

Re: Trouble replacing nautilus with pcmanfm

Although these instructions are for Ubuntu, they should work for Arch too:

Well that works, thanks.
Still confused as to why my gconf-editor solution no longer works
