[SOLVED]Problem with guest addition in Vbox

I have just installed arch linux in virtualbox.  My computer is running windows vista.  I have installed xfce4 in arch linux and everything works fine.  I am having a problem installing guest additions.  I have mounted guest additions and have clicked on VBoxLinuxAdditions-x86.run.  Here is what i get:

VirtualBox 3.0.12 Guest Additions installation
Please install GNU make.
Please install the build and header files for your current Linux kernal.
The current kernal version is 2.6.30-ARCH
Please install the GNU compiler.
Problems were found which would prevent the Guest Additions from installing,
Please correct these problems and try again.
Press Return to close this window...

I am new to linux and this is my first arch linux install.  If you can help me i would really apreciate it.  I have searched google for 20 mins trying to find the problem but i can't seem to find the solution.  If you need more info just ask me.

I'm sorry, I don't know much about VirtualBox (yet) but how did you install the additions? Did you use the Arch Linux package manager, like this?

pacman -S virtualbox-additions

Ok i just solved my problem.  I installed the additions through the terminal and then rebooted and it worked.
