It seems that no matter what I do I cant get the screen to stop dimming. Im using Kdemod 4.3 and I have laptop-mode installed, ive tried disabling dimming via gui programs multiple times but it doesnt seem to work.
How can I have it so that it doesnt dim at all when on battery power and will only turn the screen off when I close the lid (which suspends to ram)?

*Bump*
Anyone have a solution for this? Its extremely annoying to keep making the screen brighter every few minutes when I'm running on battery power, it's almost annoying enough to make me stop using linux on my netbook.

Check out the wiki, I added info yesterday on how to setup Laptop mode tools to adjust the brightness of the screen.
Edit: note that is the 1005HA wiki article!

Thanks that info fixed it.
edit: I was reading through the wiki (again) and under the "CPU Powersaving" section and the superhe package is called laptop-mode-tools-superhe not laptop-mode-superhe Apparently it's also installed by default when you install the laptop-mode-tools package.

Thanks for the heads up, but please feel free to correct any errors you encounter in the wiki yourself. It's a community project after all.
