weird problem with cursor and mouse selection in konqueror and konsole

Hello

I have just copied my settings from a kubuntu installation to a new arch/kdemod install (kde4).
Everything went well, but now I have a very weird problem with the cursor position and mouse selection in konqueror and konsole.
If I click on something, the actual selection appears consistently away from where it should be.
If I start konsole, the cursor blinks a good inch away from where it should. If I start typing, then it writes in the right position, and the cursor keep maintaining that offset.
Other kde apps like kate do not do that. Firefox does not do that. Kontact does not have this problem.

I have looked on the internet but it is not easy to find anything as looking for cursor position gets you millions of programmers pages.

Any idea what is going on?

Change the font to monospace in the konsole. That should fix it.
