Ok I made the leap and installed it. Mostly seems to work great so far, that is a nice surprise.

One thing I can't fix is the system tray, isn't it supposed to be able to display some plasmoids in 4.4?  If I go to System Tray Settings -> Plasma Widgets and tick eg. the battery monitor widget, it doesn't show. Then when I go back to the config dialogue the box is unticked again.

This is with the x86_64 packages. Does system tray plasmoids work for anyone else?

I tried to install this and it broke everything, i had to reinstall to fix as it would not load X, later found out tha the mirrors here in Australia are way behind and out of sync. I will just wait for the final release in a few weeks

OMG, I could of sweared that there werent plannes for RC3, I watched release schedule a week ago? Could be my mistake from the beginning sry, I should of checked before I posted...

You're right, there were no plans for RC3. I guess they've decided to release it because of the system tray bug

You updated to testing repo?  It works for me.  Yet, I was having a problem with akonadi, which I posted in testing repo forum.  Reverting to previous mysql version works.

Wondering if anyone else sees this bug:

* NetworkManager is enabled
* System tray KNetworkManager plasmoid is enabled
* sudo /etc/rc.d/networkmanager stop
* Plasma crashes

I see some similar bugs in the KDE bugzilla but they mostly seem to be for 4.3.x. It would be useful to see if any of you guys can reproduce this too,

i cannot change the date via the "date & time" module in systemsettings. When i click on "apply" nothing happens, If i go back to systemsettings it asks  if i want to apply or discard, and when i click "apply" it says: "unable to authenticate/execute the action: 4".

What's the problem?

I do confirm. Same behaviour here. It seems that Networmanager (the plasmoid) is (still) a work-in-progress roll Plasma crashes due to the networkmanager plasmoid.
