Writing a virtual image to a real hard disk

I was thinking that it would be a good idea to create a sort of skeleton version of an Arch machine. I want to create a basic system in a virtual machine and make an image of the virtual hard drive in such a way that I can copy the files to an empty partition on my real hard drive. Is such a construction possible?

If I'm not mistaken, you should be able to use the dd command for this. Look up the man page or search the net. However, you might want to use a dedicated tool such as partimage, which doesn't include redundant sectors and is easily compressed/decompressed.

"You can watch for your administrator to install the latest kernel with watch uname -r" - From the watch man page

I would suggest using QEmu for the purpose of building you VM.

And follow this page in reverse
