Setting laptop webcam up

I have an acer aspire 5670
Until some months ago, i was using the gspca module, but now it seems to be included in the same kernel.
Even though, i cannot get it to work, and arch's wiki is a bit useless in here (not aiming for offend)

How can i start for making it work? Cheese does not recognize any camera device.....

Thanks!

Re: Setting laptop webcam up

If you login as root does it work?  If so, you just need to add your user to the video group.

If that doesn't do it, we'll probably need more info.

Re: Setting laptop webcam up

As root it does not work neither.

I think is some problem while detecting the device or that certain module needed by the camera is not loaded

Re: Setting laptop webcam up

Can you post the output of your lspci?  I would bet your webcam uses the linux-uvc module.  You may also look through your dmesg log to try to find out if the webcam is autodetected and if any modules are autoloaded for it.
