gpm not working properly/jumpy (eee, i915 KMS)

Hai

I wanted to try some CLI apps like links -driver fb.
Therefore I tried to set up gpm and failed:

Using /dev/input/mice, /dev/input/mouse1 (=touchpad) or /dev/input/mouse3 (=usb mouse) always gives the same result:
The pointer does not really move where I want it to, it always sticks at the upper left screen corner and sometimes jumps all over the screen. Sometimes it feels as if I had tha mouse upside down, sometimes it is just "normal" jumping around. So no matter in which direction I move the mouse it just seems to be randomly.

Only -t pnp and ms seem to be the only protocolls to make the pointer move at all.
-t syn or -t synps2 do not completely not work with my synaptic touchpad. evdev does neither work with the usb mouse nor the touchpad.
All the others don't seem to do anything (I did not try all of them).

Is the problem maybe KMS with intel i915? The resolution is 1024x600, does gpm maybe not like this?

Or any other ideas?

Works here with GPM_ARGS="-m /dev/input/mice -t imps2". Both touchpad and usb mouse. I have an Aspire One, not an eee, but that shouldn't make a difference.

Re: gpm not working properly/jumpy (eee, i915 KMS)

I am having a similar problem, I am running arch on a aspire one d250 and I cant get GPM to work properly.
I tried GPM_ARGS="-m /dev/input/mouse0 -t imps2"
         GPM_ARGS="-m /dev/input/mouse0 -t synps2"
         GPM_ARGS="-m /dev/input/mouse0 -t evdev"
and some other combinations. I have KMS enabled. and I tested it on nano and elinks.
      some help would be apreciated
              Thanks
