So I just upgraded my kernel to 2.6.32.3, enabling Intel KMS. Upon reboot, everything looks just fine. Then I log in, run startx, and things get weird: the screen fills with a cloud of little multicolored horizontal lines, some of which disappear within a few seconds. The lines go away and I'm faced with a cursor on an all-black screen; I'm able to move it for a few seconds, then it freezes up and I have to force-reboot.
Video card: Intel GMA X3100 ('Intel Corporation Mobile GM965/GL960 Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 03)')
xorg-server 1.7.3.902-1
xf86-video-intel 2.9.1-1
Everything works with kernel 2.6.31.5, though I don't know if I used exactly the same configuration when I compiled the new one.
Also, /var/log/Xorg.0.log is completely empty and `startx &> startx.log` leaves a blank file.
