nForce2 sound full of static.

I've been using the snd-intel8x0 module and all the associated modules for my nforce sound but have noticed some static in sound playback. I've installed alsa-lib, alsa-oss and alsa-utils and configured sound according to the wiki. It seems that OSS apps don't have this issue while ALSA ones do. Any ideas?

Have you tried alsaconf?
