Torrents are not downloading

Hi,
I'm still new to Arch (after 3 months of using) and since the beginning I couldn't deal with a simple problem of not downloading torrents. I've tried both Transmission and rtorrent, I know I have ports forwarded on router, also I've tried with several ports. And I have seriously have no idea where to start and what to fix.
Anyone can help me?

install iptables, then check a manual how to open ports on that (I can't remember by head exactly, I always google that)
And ktorrent worked for me fine even in "passive" (the port 6881 it requires was open nowhere exactly)
