Removing build dependencies

Am I likely to encounter any problems removing the build dependencies after installing a package from the aur? Specifically, installing firefox-branded pulls in lots of gnome stuff I don't want as it has libgnomeui>=2.24.1 in makedepends.  Once its built and up and running, can I remove libgnomeui et al via pacman -Rns?

Re: Removing build dependencies

Running

pacman -Qdt

will get you a list of packages that were installed as dependencies but are no longer needed by any package.  These can be safely uninstalled.

Re: Removing build dependencies

You can use bauerbill for aur handling. It will automatically uninstall unnecessary build time dependencies and is recommended in general.
