[SOLVED]Network delay on bootup

As I primarily use wifi on my netbook (eeePC 901), I never bother to connect via ethernet. This appears to cause it to stop at the "Network" module on bootup for some ten seconds before failing to load it and moving on. Is there a way around this, short of disabling the network module?

Re: [SOLVED]Network delay on bootup

Have you tried reading the comments in the rc.conf file? Put a bang "!" before it's name in the modules array in rc.conf. Prefixing it with an "@" will background it so other tasks can go on, or you can simply delete it entirely

Edit: Wait, you want to not disable it, but it still not do anything? Maybe disable your ethernet adapter in the interfaces array. I would check out the rc.conf wiki page for more

That did the job, thanks. I didn't want to disable the network module because I obviously still need it for wifi.

Re: [SOLVED]Network delay on bootup

Ah, I don't do anything wireless so I wasn't sure which way that worked, thought I recalled seing other ways to do it. I'm glad it's working, can you edit the OP to mark this thread as "[Solved]"?
